Dictate search in app via Apple TV not working as expected anymore

Longtime Apple TV user. I usually highlight a search field in apps like YouTube or Netflix and dictate using the remote to type, however only recently this does not work as expected anymore and opens Siri instead. It doesn’t matter if the search field is highlighted or not and it is affecting all apps.

Apple tv mic search not working I have an Apple TV 3rd generation, with TV ios 17.2 and a 3rd generation Siri remote (with mic button on the side). After the ios update, I am unable to dictate voice search on any 3rd party App like YouTube or Netflix. Eg. On netflix, I select search and highlight 1st alphabet, and then press mic button on the side, it then takes me to Apple TV+ App search section. Before ios update, I was able to dictate search within Netflix using the mic button. How to get that feature back??

Apple TV 4K Search App vs Siri Using TvOs 17.1. When I use the native search app, it only displays results for music and podcasts. With Siri disabled, if I use the dictation search button on the remote, I receive similar results. With Siri enabled and using the dictation on the remote, I get results for movies and TV across apps. Is it normal behavior for the native search app (no Siri) to display no movie or tv results, and only be able to search for them with Siri global search?

I have been unable to search the YouTube app on my Apple TV I have been trying to use the side button on the remote to search within YouTube, however the search results disappear as soon as I depress the mic button on remote, making it impossible to use the voice feature. I have alternatively tried to use my iphone to search within YouTube, but the text input only lets me input a few characters before it automatically closes the text input box and searches for whatever 3-5 letter word was input. These are small, yet very annoying problems that I hope will disappear with a future update... [Edited by Moderator]

I have this same issue.

I have found that if you tap and not hold down the microphone button, it half works. It seems to pick up audio from the whole room and not as it did before.

It is very frustrating and it as happening to all my Apple TV 4K v2s.

Please help Apple!
