Touch ID is not working and if it does it is really slow MacBook Pro M2

My touch ID is not working on my MacBook Pro and if it does work it is very slow. I have deleted the fingerprint multiple times. One thing I notice when I go to add my fingerprint back in it takes a really long time to recognize it. Once it finally does it's the same outcome. I have shutdown the computer multiple times and same thing. I have updated to Sonoma 14.1.1 so not sure if that has anything to do with it but I noticed it after the updates.
