Logic board replacement MacBook Air 2017

My laptop won’t turn on and I was told that I would have to replace the logic board (motherboard). It’s looking like €570 for repair. Does anyone have experience if it is worth replacing or better off getting a new MacBook in the long run?

In the long run, you're better off getting a new MacBook Air.

  • Your MacBook Air can't run any MacOS beyond Monterey, and that's already two versions old.
  • Many of the newer apps you might want are only being updated for Apple Silicon, and you'd be left out.
  • At 6 years old, your battery is approaching the end of its life. It's probably not there yet, but in a year or two it most likely will be.
  • The price for a new motherboard is almost 50% of the cost of a new Mac.

Hope this helps with your decision.
