Airdrop is failing after upgrade to Sonoma 14.1 and iOS 17.1

Airdrop was working fine before updating to Sonoma 14.1 and iOS 17.1.

Now the transfer times out and eventually fails.

I am transferring from iPhone 12 to Mac Mini M1.

I also have tried all sorts of turning on/off scenarios but no resolution.

Airdrop failing I am experiencing persistent AirDrop issues on my iPhone 16 Pro (iOS 17.0.3) and both my MacBook Pro 14” (Sonoma 14.1) and MacBook Air 13 M2, disrupting my workflow for over six months. Despite exhaustive troubleshooting, including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth resets, software updates, and even system reinstalls, the problem endures. The items are recognised, I just always get a “failure” notice. The correct device name appears for AirDrop etc. Very occasionally a duplicate listing with an incorrect icon appears and the - and only then - a file transfer will work. This issue has not only persisted across different phones but also through recent software updates and even after a complete reinstallation of the operating system on my MacBook Pro.

Airdrop between Iphone SE 23 and Macbook 2017 doesnt work. All suggestions were followed up; both devices appear but after waiting for download is says "failed". My Macbook 2017 always worked with my Iphone 6; since last month I have Iphone SE 23 and it doesn't succeed in downloading anything anymore through Airdrop. I followed Apple instructions (share contacts everyone, firewall deselected, both devices switched on and off again, bluetooth switched off and on again: nothing works.) Both devices are up to date (Iphone SE IOS 17.0.3 and Macbook Monterey 12.7) What can be wrong?

iPhone 15 ProMax iOS 17.0.3 airdrop to MacOS X14.0 (23A344) absurdly slow With the same laptop, iPhone 13 pro max airdrop was instantaneous...now, if it succeeds at all, it takes many minutes. Is it just me, or is this still a widespread problem in FCS? [Edited by Moderator]

It would appear that the configuration of it sometimes does not work as intended. It is much easier to go wired as opposed to wireless.

Having the same problem. Macbook Pro, M1 Max, Sonoma v 14.1 iPhone 15 Pro, iOS V 17.3.1
