Apple Music not working on IPad Gen 6 after installing iOS17

I see that I’m not alone in having issues with Apple Music after installing iOS17 onto my IPad 6th Generation.

Exactly the same thing has happened to me. I was on the phone for an hour and spoke to two different engineers over in the States (I’m in England).

They tried everything including a full reinstall to no effect whatsoever. They logged onto my iPad virtually so could see what was or wasn’t happening.

I did explain that it’s not just me and to check these forums, however despite their efforts ( they were extremely helpful and friendly), ultimately I’m left with a visit that they have booked, to my local Apple Store.

Im not convinced that it will make any difference until it’s acknowledged at a higher level that iOS17 has effectively failed regards Apple Music on iPads and a general fix is required.

Unfortunately I can’t find anything in the news about this.

Just to add the Apple Music works fine on my iPhone which is also on iOS17.

Cheers - I’ve just completed the feedback.

I’ve also installed the latest release 17.1.1 but that hasn’t made any difference.

judging by the number of responses on here it looks like the issue is quite widespread.

Same isssue here.

I have 25Gb of local music (which I synchronize across devices via iCloud). On iPad 6 (128Gb, wi-fi and cellular) with 17.1.1 playlists are all empty. Album list does not show. I can't play any of my music. I have deleted all music, deleted the Music app, re-downloaded the app, re-synchronized my music (all very time-consuming), and initially all looks good. I go to play something and playlists and Album list come up empty again.

I have reported to Apple Feedback.

iPad Gen 6, no consistent way to get music to play through the Music app… I seemingly find a fix, and as soon as I open the app up a second time, it’s glitched! No music list showing except the first 6-8 in the list, and frozen on the last played song. When it’s frozen, there’s nothing I can do to play music except reinstall the app, fiddle with all the automatic join settings turning them off, but even these are inconsistent fixes - The Music app is broken on this iPad! Apple, please update this serious problem ASAP!

After working with 2 different Applecare folks for hours-jumping through hoops and finally being referred to a "senior care" advisor and wasting time with that guy Apple must be embarassed they have a product (Apple Music) that does not work with their product iPad 6th generation. I thought 7 years was the cutoff but it appears they just don't care and want you to buy new stuff after 5 years...
