iPad Pro 9.7 draining battery

I have an iPad Pro 9.7 I just recently updated to 16.7.2 and battery is all messed up won’t let me update it anymore battery was fine before this update. Have seen something saying they would not be including this iPad in the newest updates, so I’m wondering what can be done to fix the issue with my battery now draining 25 minutes after I charge it and it won’t charge to 100 % or only goes to 95% even when it’s on the charger it starts draining I’m really upset that I feel like I’m being forced to have to buy a new one which I won’t be able to do as I just bought this one a year ago. Also my iPhone is updated to 17 but iPad won’t update to the latest update says it’s too old for latest update that’s just not ok not sure what I can do now to help battery work appropriate again

I’m having the exact same issue… Has Apple replied with a fix for this battery drainage problem? I actually purchased another iPad because of it not working after the update.

Did you update to the latest version of iOS 16 using Wi-Fi?

If yes, try to install it again by using your computer and setting it back to factory settings, after you made sure that you have a current backup.

Updating via Wi-Fi only replaces new parts of the software, unchanged parts remain on the device, which might lead to issues. Also, after updating iOS there are still iOS background activities going on for a certain time.

Did you check in the settings for the battery, if there are apps that use the battery life more than usual?

ok yes I did force restart the issue I’m having while I understand this is an older model and I just purchased it a year ago not new obviously but also when I check the battery health it says its fine and doesn’t red service than also I had no issues at all with the battery draining until I did the latest updates to the 16 and yes unfortunately this was not included to be a part of the the latest software updates to 17 ? So why would the battery all of a sudden have issues when it didn’t before this update? And why would I change the battery when it says the battery is fine and doesn’t require service?
