view original Date/ Time created not appearing now?

I just pulled the trigger and bought FCPx. I had the trial for 90 days and in that time I could select any media and in the info inspector window I could see the date and time that the media was recorded. video or photo.

The app made me install a new version of FCPx as the trial version expired.

I'm now selecting media and there is NO line displaying the original created date/time? Now it displays the last time the media was altered? I never saw this before.

I tried selecting the various drop down views - Basic, general, extended etc... and the original created date and time is not listed there either?

How do I get this back?

I have to be able to quickly see when a shot was recorded and having that in the inspector on the trial version was great. I never did anything before to get this to appear - it was just there. The inspector looks totally different now?

thanks

At the base of that Inspector Window is a button that selects what data is displayed. At the moment it is set on "Basic". If you click on Basic you can then select the item "Edit Metadata View...". That will take you to a list of all the possible data that can be shown. In the search field type "Created" and you should see the item "Content Created" with a checkbox. If that checkbox is checked then you should get Content Created in the basic info view.

thanks Tom -

I do see now that at the top of the inspector is showing OPTIMIZED. I am assuming that when I opened the library I created in the 'trial version' of FCPx - where I DID NOT select optimize media when importing - that somehow when I opened the old library in the NEW licensed FCP that is somehow optimized and it is referring to the optimized clip - not the original? If that is the case how do I import the many many libraries I've already created and edited so this doesn't happen? How to do I get this opened library to go back to original content?

Or is something else going on here?

Thanks so much. always impressed with how fast you reply...

all the clips are in the timeline or in an event folder in the project library. those in the browser do not say optimized. Some media on the timeline says optimized like in the pic above - others do not. But they all say date modified - there is no date / time created. Is there an option somewhere to add that to the list of data in the info browser?

Would importing a library that was created in the trial software somehow loose that info? The info is on the original media when I go to Get Info so have no idea what is going on.

There must be an option to SHOW the media original created date/ time ??
