Moving pictures from Files to Photos

I have an IPad Pro and all my op system software is up to date.

I have twenty or so pics in Files that I want to move into an album I created in Photos. I’ve selected the photos I want to move in Files. I had both apps open and visible on screen and I’d hoped it would be a simple matter of drop and drag after that. Didn’t work. Then I tried the Move button in files. Same result.

What am I doing wrong?

To import photos to your Photo Library from the Files App, you will need to Share the selected photos with the Photos App...

From the Files App, locate the Photos that you wish to import to your Photo Library. Select one or more photos, then tap the blue Share button at bottom left of the main Photos App window. From Action Menu, tap Save n Images (where "n" is the number of selected photos); the selected photos will be copied to your Photo Library.
