When I type up an email, sometimes the cursor jumps to the top of the page?

i’ve noticed this the past couple months…..when i’m on my ipad pro using my smart keyboard and in safari and in my yahoo mail typing up an email, i will be typing mid-sentence and all of a sudden my cursor will jump to the very top of the email and whatever i’m typing will be typed there and often in a slightly different font and/or size. i then have to delete that and place my curser back to the mid-sentence space i was previously typing. i have checked and ensured that my wrist and/or fingers are not touching the cursor pad, so i know that’s not the issue.

FYI, this is not just an iPad problem. I have been having the same problem on my MacBook Pro for the last two years. I thought I was accidentally leaning my hand on the mousepad while typing, but I tried not resting my wrists and it still happens.

Just now, I noticed when composing four emails in a row from a copy and pasted template, that when I hit enter to indent, my cursor would jump down and indent after the same exact hyperlink below my signature. Is there a setting I've activated that I'm unaware of? Couldn't locate anything in Settings. I've tried the updates and restarting. Neither fixes it.
