Canon PIXMA G2411 driver for MacOS

Canon does not provide MacOS drivers for the Canon PIXMA G2411 printer. It seems to be regarded as a Windows-only printer. This question has been asked previously for MacOS 10.14.6 Mojave:

Hi, I can't find a suitable printer drive… - Apple Community

The answer did not provide a solution.

On 10.14.6, installing Gutenprint 5.3.3. from:

https://gimp-print.sourceforge.io/MacOSX.php

allows for selecting an alternative which allows for basic printing.

  1. Download and install Gutenprint
  2. Connect and Power on the Printer
  3. Go to Printers & Scanners
  4. + Printer
  5. Use: Select Software
  6. Canon G2000 series

Hoping this helps others.

Hey, the Gutenprint you suggested worked. For Canon Pixma G2411 series (the one that I have), Canon Pixma G2200 series driver worked for me. Thanks for suggesting that!

Hi,

For someone with one of the latest macOS versions, it could possibly be worth testing drivers for a model G2000, G2200, or G2400 (depending on region). This could be a G2000 series CUPS Printer Driver Ver.16.70.0.0 (Mac). There is also an ICA Driver Ver.5.0.0 (Mac) for scanning. It may or may not work.
