I created songs in Garageband on a Mac Pro but dont want them in the itunes app. I don't subscribe to itunes but the songs show up there. If I delete them in itunes, will the songs be deleted in Garageband too?

GarageBand and Music are completely separate apps. The Music app will create a library of tracks to organize your music and audio files. When you save a file in GarageBand per Create and save projects in GarageBand on Mac you would designate a location to save that file to.
When you delete an item in Music, you're presented with options to remove the listing from your library or to fully remove the listing and the actual file from your Mac as described in Delete songs and other items in Music on Mac:
on your Mac, click Songs in the sidebar.You'd want to remove the item from your library to not see it in Music but still keep the original file where you saved it.

A subscription is not required to use iTunes. Also, deleting songs from iTunes will not delete them from GarageBand.

Thanks for the very prompt reply and information! Now I know that the red music icon is the "Music App" and not Itunes.
So, can I still delete songs in the "Music App" and they won't be deleted in GarageBand?
The only songs in my Music App are the songs I created in GarageBand.

I appreciate the reply and information! Going forward, when I create a song project, I will click on “save as” and choose just the GB location.
I think I was just clicking on “save” and maybe the system was defaulting to place the file in GB and the Music App. Or I wasn’t paying attention when I originally saved it :)
