Old iTunes Purchases

I have a bunch of music I purchased before iTunes offered the re-download options. I backed them up on external harddrives and am hoping to reimport...but is there anyway to get Apple to re-recognize them in my account so I can easily download on other devices?

Music/ iTunes issue with downloads I have been syncing my Mac and iphone regularly. Especially syncing new songs. When I was researching another issue I discovered a few songs that I purchased needed downloading i already had them on my Mac and iPhone, and now I have 2 copies of theses songs. I did need to (re) authorize the Mac to download them, but it was already authorized? Will music/apple/MAC eventually clear them? *the related issue was that I’m 80% sure I bought an album in 2004 (it’s release date) and it’s not part of my library, and it’s not showing up in purchases. I haven’t changed my account ( just the password several times over that much time). Any idea on other ways/places to check.

I used to have iTunes Match many years ago, and then stopped paying for it. If I resubscribe will my old music show up again? Hi There. I was an original iPod / original iTunes user. Back in the day when they introduced iTunes Match, I signed up and all of my music in my library was copied / mirrored to the cloud (had uploaded so many CDs to iTunes). I did that for a few years and was able to access all of it, including playlists. Then I just stopped paying for it and lost access to my iTunes Match library and only had access to songs that I had purchased on Apple. QUESTION: I really want to recover some of those old tunes and I wonder if I pay the $24.99 subscription for iTunes Match, can I get access to all that old music again? Thanks!

Dani,

If they are purchased files from 2013, they they are normal unprotected AAC audio files. Just add them to the library on your computer and sync your devices. If you don't have a subscription, sync by direct connect:

If you subscribe to iTunes Match or Apple Music you can sync across devices.

These are older iTunes purchases... like 2013 or so... so before they seemed to show across platforms. :(
