Music/Video automatically plays when I plug in Aux to my iPhone

Anytime I plug in my aux cord in my car to my iPhone 15, it automatically plays music from Spotify or YouTube. I can’t find the setting to turn this off.

its not apple music, I deleted that. It’s not the car, the auto play feature is turned off.

dont tell me “there isn’t an option for that” to turn it off, you need to make one immediately. I don’t want anything to start automatically playing, ever. This is unacceptable. Give me an option to turn off this idiotic feature immediately.

STILL HAVING THE SAME ISSUE.

my music doesn’t automatically play or pause when a Bluetooth speaker/headphones are connected, it’s only a wired aux connection (with dongle because Apple made the terrible decision to take away the aux jack) that does this. Extremely annoying, I never, and I mean NEVER want my music to automatically connect lay or pause because I connected it to my car.

no Apple Music, not the issue. Does it with Spotify and YouTube, does it with whichever media player was last used. the issue is with Apple, specially with the iPhone 15, as I never had this issue with my 8.

Apple, you need to update the phone with an error correction that stops media from playing when an aux cord with dongle is connected. When can I expect this update?

Problem NOT fixed. The new adapter causes the same issue. Still having this issue months later. Has aople

figured out a solution to their phone playing/pausing music and video apps when an aux cord is plugged into them?

Once again this is Apple’s problem, as it doesn’t matter if it’s Apple Music, Spotify, or YouTube, it will play or pause the most recently used media app.

im very close to trading in this phone for another company’s product. A company that leaves AUX ports in their phones. Think quick apple.

Hey! It’s not the apps, it’s Apple’s terrible decision to not include an auxiliary port in their iPhones that’s the problem here. Don’t worry, I figured out the work around.

it’s because I was using an adapter (aux to usb-c) that also had a female charging port to allow aux and battery charging at the same time. You have to use a single adapter with no charging capabilities. This made the music stop playing automatically when I plug it in.

Hi Metard79,

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities. We'll be happy to help get you pointed in the right direction for help with these apps.

Since the apps you are referring to are not created by Apple, you will want to reach out to their support sites to learn how to disable autoplay for each one. We did go and find the links below to help get you started.

Take care!
