Why can’t I add a certain person as my friend on Game Center. I send them the request and it says it expired within a couple minutes. I’ve already tried going to setting and Game Center but it still won’t let me

If your friend did not receive the request, we recommend for you and your friend to restart each device and see if that helps. i’ve tried that multiple times and still yet game center won’t let me accept or send friend requests i’ve had someone send me a request and as soon as i got the message it showed up as expired,, honestly this whole ordeal is tiring and apple should really fix this issue to make it easier to fix
