Will my super drive work properly connected to a 2020 iMac running Ventura

In the processing of setting up a 2020 iMac running OS 13.0 Ventura and wondering if the Super Drive connected to my older iMac (a Mid-2015) will (or should) work, allowing me to play DVDs and burn CDs if I connect my Super Drive to my newer iMac. (Oh the joys of constantly changing technology!!!!)

Would appreciate any viable comments and/or recommendations. Btw- my Super Drive has a USB A cable (and the 2020 iMac has USB "compatible USB A ports, as well as USB C ports.

iMac 27″, macOS 13.0

Well I suppose the best way to see if something will work is to "try it". After all practical experience is much more effective than theoretical experience. My personal experience is this; Take my Apple Super Drive over to my 2020 iMac 5K, with it's Intel processor running Mac OS 13.0 Ventura, plug it's USB-A into the iMac's USB-3 port and insert a CD (in this case, a CD containing Fleetwood Mac's best songs-previously burned on the CD) and see what happens. What happens is it works flawlessly! The Apple application "Music" launches and is perfectly prepared to play the songs of this CD..........with much improved internal speakers, I might add. The same can be said for a blank CD-ready and willing to "be burned" with whatever data I wish to throw at it. Likewise, a full length movie DVD. Up and ready standing at full attention and charging into the playing of "A Bridge Too Far" as if Brigadier General James Gavin himself were leading the charge. Works perfectly.........and no special "tools" necessary.
