Downloaded music stops playing on Apple Watch

Apple Watch with Airpods. Music is purchased and downloaded from iTunes. Will go out for a walk and start music. Then randomly, it stops playing or pauses for an extended period (sometimes a couple minutes) between songs. I can usually get it playing again by exiting out of the app and restarting (typically just have it randomly shuffle songs from my library).

It's extremely random. Sometimes several songs will play in a row before this happens. Sometimes it happens after one song. There doesn't seem to be any pattern.

Most of the time I can get it playing again, sometimes I can't via the steps above, but then several minutes later it either restarts or I can repeat the steps and get it to restart.

Anyone else seeing this and/or have suggestions?
