HomePod still not working for Portuguese speaking markets

This has been going on for some time, but it’s difficult to understand how Apple managed to get Siri to learn indian dialects, and skandinavian languages, but not Portuguese, which has close to 400 million native speakers. I don’t enjoy having to switch lights and operating other smarthome automations by speaking Spanish or English. I actually know people moving away from the Apple ecosystem on account of this. Not a problem for Tim? Hope he’s wrong, and lives to take the blame.

I couldn’t be more in agree with you! For that reason I bought sonos speaker instead of home pod. Absolutely unacceptable that in 2024 portuguese native (European) is still out of Siri’s language list.

I’m waiting for years to have my HomePod in my languages. I mean. There lots of minor languages contemplated and not Portuguese. More than 260,000 native speakers and nothing. This is disrespectful. It’s been almost half a decade now.

they may see Brazil as a third world but its marketshare is tremendous.

i have a HomePod for years. And I was waiting to buy at least two more but all depending of have in my language.

there’s Russian and lots of Chinese, why’s that? It’s Intel matter?

I even thought that there was something about our rightish government but now we are as left as possible and still nothing.

Apple, come on. It can’t be that hard for you!!

If u buy a HomePod 2nd generation, or a HomePod Mini, u’ll be able to use it in Brasil and Portugal ( Apple Music and Apple classic, plus dab radio) and set up your HomeKit (smart lighting; camera doorbells; security cameras; etc.) One HomePod unit can be paired with security with another unit for a stereo experience; same with HomePod Mini, Núbia can’t pair a HomePod and a HomePod Mini.
