My wife and I are content creators and would like to use the Apple ecosystem for work. But it appears that the albums we share (I edit and upload, and she posts on social) are severely limited in image size. Is there a way to turn the compression off? We have also tried using the shared library feature, which retains the image quality but does not allow for albums rendering it completely useless when dealing with 100s if not 1000s of files.

"Shared Albums also support special formats that you capture with your iPhone, like slo-mo, time-lapse, Live Photos, and Memory videos. When shared, photos are reduced to 2048 pixels on the long edge, except panoramic photos, which can be up to 5400 pixels wide. You can share GIFs that are 100MB or smaller.
Videos can be up to fifteen minutes in length and are delivered at up to 720p resolution. "
Are these limits smaller than what you want to post?

Exactly, why treat differently shared albums from non shared albums? they could still keep the original author of the picture as the "owner" and only count it once for storage, if that is the problem. Google Photos has this figured out...

Thanks for the response. I would like to retain the original resolution and bitrate for photos and videos, just like uploads to non-shared albums.
Shared album compression? It just (doesn't) works.
