Had my mid 2011 iMac wiped and refurbished and lost my driver for my Canon ip4200 printer. Neither Apple, nor Canon, support this print driver anymore. Is there a work around?

This would be entirely experimental, but you may want to check whether one of the other iPxxxx drivers listed in Printer and scanner drivers for Mac - Apple Support could be used. The system requirements for the download from Apple at Canon Printer Drivers v3.4 for macOS appear to include macOS 10.13 High Sierra.
iP4200 is also listed on a Gutenprint web page as an experimental driver.
As always, make sure that you have backup copies of all important files before testing anything. If necessary, reset the printing system between tests.

Canon shows no printer drivers for this particular model since OS X 10.7 Lion. Those Lion drivers may work with macOS 10.13.6 or they may not. There is no support for this device in Apple's AirPrint, or by any other means.
