icloud drive windows 11 sync issues

I have had difficulties syncing folders (see sync progress bar start but never complete), and the iCloud app is showing I am logged in. I can use iCloud Web.

I have logge dout and back and worked with apple support etc but to no avail.

Is Apple ever going to improve this windows interface or are we pretty much out of luck here.

MacBook Air, macOS 14.0

I was waiting to get a directory to sync up (it said last synced 34 minutes ago) to see a file I wrote to drive on my phone.

I tried writing a small file (like a text file) to the directory on my computer (this was windows 11) and it immediately synced / downloaded the files from the cloud. Maybe it might work for you (and others? ) too?
