On my contact widgit, my contacts location updates are delayed or do not change until I click on the contact and get their updated location. This started about 7 months ago. ,

Contacts sync to your email account or accounts. If you have your email set to Manual rather than Fetch then contacts will only update when you open the Contacts app.

The options for my iCloud account are push, fetch, and manual. I’m set to push and locations don’t update in contacts widget.
If you open Contacts and tap on Lists what contact lists do you have? Only iCloud, or others also?
