Siri on Homepod mini slurring words

I've been having this issue ever since the new Home architecture was updated with matter/thread where Siri's voice warps or glitches in a way where it sounds like they are slurring their words and it's hard to make out what they're saying (I'm using American voice 5). Siri doesn't have this issue on my watch, phone, or ipad. I've had this homepod since tvos 15, and haven't had any issues up until earlier this year. I have kept it in the same location on the dining room table the entirety of the time it's been with me. Resetting power doesn't make a difference. Happens sporadically.
