How to change default alarm tone on iOS 17?

As a workaround until Apple sobers up and fixes this, create a shortcut named something you can say clearly that Siri won't confuse with other things. Add a single action "Create an alarm" and have the time set to "ask each time". Alarms created through that will have the latest-chosen-in-clock alarm sound.

Setting a Default Alarm Tone:

Go to the Clock app and create an alarm. then, select the Alarm Tone. Siri may overrule a lot of stuff, so avail using it, so that things are not set to random. Unfortunately, keeping it safe from charged is not an option. So,...

Being not an option, recommend this to Apple. Apple won't get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what their customers prefer, and what features to include in iOS versions to come.

3. Comment: that you want this to be an option and why. Include the URL of this thread.
4. Proceed from there as necessary

Thank you so much. This has been driving me mad. As I set new alarms daily for just a random task I want to remember later. Any alarm other than the new “unfold” is just so jarring and pierces my ears. And I’ve been so frustrated unable to find a way to set default. Now I see it’s a common issue. Rants like yours go in one ear and out the other. NO One here is an Apple employee and we volunteers are not paid by Apple either. Apple does not monitor these forums and these forums are not Apple Support. These forums are user-to-user only so insulting a volunteer will get you ignored by most other volunteers going forward.

This is a TERRIBLE recommendation from apple. It is not well written and completely misses the point. Changing an alarm sound is one of the few things that Apple and IOS should never do. There certainly needs to be a way to update the default alarm sound. It is unbelievable this isn't an option in IOS.

The radial alarm sounds so similar to my CPR alarm, which I get when someone nearby is in need of resuscitation, that I experience a really big shock through my body every time I hear this alarm. It definitely makes it harder for me to quickly respond to the real CPR alarm and distinguish it from the stupid Radial sound. Implementing a feature to set a default alarm, could in fact save lives.
