On iPhone Music app, How can I get playlist of an album to play in correct track order?
The tracks are not even listed in correct order, so how can I re-order the tracks?

I gave up. I absolutely could not get my playlist to play in order I had set. From Lennard Skinnard to Dolly to CCR to oak Ridge Boys …nuts…. This started when I accessed the “free” offer of Apple Music, before my music played in order I am certain. I just canceled it. I will try something else.

If you've got tracks from the same album in a playlist, and if you're using the Music app on your iPhone, just open up the playlist, tap the 3 dots in the upper right and choose Sort By. From there, choose Album. This will order the tracks from each album in the correct order. The default Sort By could be set to something you didn't want, such as Playlist Order or Title.
That should get you taken care of.

I do not see the Sort By option under the 3 dots in the playlist.
Options are Delete, Add to a Playlist, Next, Last, Share, Love, Suggest

It sounds like you may have the feature shuffle enabled on your Music app. If so, when you are wanting to listen to an album you will need to disable it. Then the songs should play in order as listed.
How to turn off shuffle
1. Tap the song that's playing at the bottom of your screen.
2. Tap the Playing Next buttonin the bottom right-hand corner.

4. Tap the Shuffle buttonto turn Shuffle Off.
5.
When the Shuffle button isn't highlighted, shuffle is turned off.

The tracks are listed in the wrong order, and therefore play in the wrong order
I have managed to resolve the problem by creating another playlist and adding the tracks in the correct order.
However, I find this very inconvenient.
So, as per my original questions….
How do I create a playlist of an album in the correct track order?
How can I re-arrange the tracks in an existing playlist in the correct order?
