MagSafe charging only works with optimized charging OFF when using UAG case

I’ve been using the same Apple MagSafe charger since it first launched couple years ago. And I recently upgraded to 15 Pro Max and got the UAG Monarch Pro Kevlar case for it.

I have encountered problem with MagSafe charging with this UAG case. I noticed the phone was charging a couple minutes and stopped charging suddenly. I tried the same phone/charger with my my other CASETiFY case and do not have such issue.

Tried to update to 17.0.3 but no luck solving the issue. End up I have to set the Charging Optimization to OFF, then the iPhone with UAG case was able to be charged without stopping after a couple minutes. Even so it is a lot slower than with other or no cases.

Anyone has similar charging issue with UAG cases or know the charging optimization power between different settings?

Go send email to UAG. I sent them with my receipt and photos of the case and descriptions about the problem. After waiting for a month, they sent me a version 1.1 case back last week. This one has a similar button as volume control for action button instead of hole and MagSafe works well.

Spent $87 bucks on this UAG case and it won’t charge on a charger I’ve been using for years now or my Tesla. Total BS, the $15 case that worked fine charged on everything . You’d think they’d design a case to work for that much money….tried turning off the optimization setting and it still didn’t work.

I have a new UAG Monarch Pro for my iPhone 15 Pro and it stops charging after a couple minutes also. I haven't tried disabling Charging Optimization yet but will do so now.

I have the same case and this was driving me nuts until i saw your posting. Same case, same Phone and same issue. didnt try optimization yet but i guess i will try another case....

I think this is because of the thickness of the case and the magnets are not having a good contact from the phone towards the case
