The iPhone 7 cannot support anything newer than iOS 15, the last version of which as I write is iOS 15.7.9.

If you own an iPhone 7, you may want to update to iOS 16, but you CANNOT update to iOS 16. Time for a newer, more modern iPhone if you need any version of iOS higher than iOS 15.8.2.
