iOS dynamic island notification about unlocking apple watch stays too long and disrupts user experience

On iOS 17.0.3, iPhone 14 Pro, Apple Watch series 8, watchOS 10.0.1.

I have the "Unlock with iPhone" setting enabled. This has worked well over the years. Recently after an upgrade to either iOS or watchOS (do not recall exactly which version this new feature/bug started to appear), The notification on the dynamic island that says "Unlocking watch with iPhone":

  1. Takes up a lot of real estate, that disrupts the usage of the app that is open right below the notification
  2. Stays for a long time (~5 secs) and doesn't unlock the watch immediately
  3. Doesn't unlock the watch if the notification is dismissed by swiping up on it
  4. Has a button to "Lock" the watch, which can be accidentally clicked while using the app underneath

From a security perspective, I like the previous behavior which was a simple notification that the watch was unlocked, which was instantaneous and would disappear quickly.

The new notification is really annoying from a UX perspective. I would love for apple to at least provide the option to make this a quick/instantaneous notification.

iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 17
