Show all day events in iPhone Calendar widget

I added the Calendar widget to the Home Screen on my iPhone 15. It shows timed events, but not all day events. I see other questions about this without a simple solution. An old iPad discussion mentioned "touch and hold a widget to open the quick actions menu" and choosing options from there, but holding does nothing on my iPhone. Other threads suggested 3rd party solutions, but I don't want to add more apps if I can avoid it. Is there a way I could use Shortcuts to create a solution to this? Or does the new iOS have an option somewhere to add this to the widget display? Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Holding the the Lock Screen Calendar widget dims the text for me, but does not bring up any menus or result in any other activity. Same for the weather widget I use.

Yes, I see the Home Screen widget version does have the ability to show all-day events, or at least a couple + noting there are "4 more all-day" events. But, as the previous post you reference also indicates, this feature is missing from the Lock Screen version. I did send feedback to Apple via the link you provided.

I am still wondering if there is any way to modify this widget or create an all-day Calendar widget via Shortcuts or other built-in Apple options or apps.?

Hi zaldar,

For help with viewing and editing widgets on your iPhone, check out the information below found in the article here: Add, edit, and remove widgets on iPhone

"Edit a widget on your Home Screen

You can customize most widgets right from your Home Screen so they display the information you want to see. For example, for a Mail widget, you can tap the mailbox shown in the widget, then choose a different mailbox so the messages in that mailbox are displayed in the widget. Or you can customize a Smart Stack to rotate through its widgets based on your activity, your location, the time of day, and so on.

  1. On your Home Screen, touch and hold a widget to open the quick actions menu.
  2. Tap Edit [widget name] or tap Edit Stack, if it’s a Smart Stack), then choose options.
  3. For a Smart Stack, you can turn Smart Rotate or Widget Suggestions off or on, reorder widgets by dragging them within the stack, drag a widget from the Smart Stack to the Home Screen, or remove a widget by tapping the minus sign (–) in its upper-left corner.
  4. When you turn on Widget Suggestions, suggested widgets for apps you already use automatically appear in your Smart Stack at the right time based on your past activity. An option lets you add the widget to your stack so it’s always there when you need it.
  5. Tap Done."

However, it seems this is expected if using a personalized Lock Screen. A previous post with the same information can be found here: Lock screen calendar widget - Apple Community
