Want to get rid of voicemail option on Verizon iPhone 14 Pro Max

I have Verizon iPhone 14 Pro Max and I have never ever set up voicemail because I just don’t like it. BUT with the new iOS 17 update providing (Live Voicemail) option allowed people to leave me voicemails even without me setting it up or even creating a password. SO, in order to clear/delete the voicemails people were able to leave now I had to set a voicemail password. I can’t find or figure a way to completely deactivate/cancel/NotAllow voicemail options. I called Verizon to see if they could shut down the option to leave voicemails but Verizon said they don’t have that option. And on YouTube there’s videos for putting in codes to call such as #004#or *#61# which doesn’t work and I dont have a call forwarding option in settings. Can someone, anyone help me?! Or provide some insight?!

Ridding of Voicemail:

A. Do Not Disturb:

Voicemail is a service --not a bulletin feature of the iPhone --whatever the model/. So, if Verizon is telling you that they cannot disable it, then that is part of your Cellular Plan. So, maybe changing your cellular plan to one without voicemail would be best? In the meantime,. you'd have to use Do Not Disturb.

Enabling Do Not Disturb:

  1. Open: Control Center (Swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen).
  2. Tap: Focus
  3. Tap: Do Not Disturb (so that it is green)

B. Contact YouTube:

Find out why YouTube is putting this on their device. That seems the best rate to take. Perhaps they have a bug fix for this?

What I did that helped so far is I made sure all the voicemails were clear. Then I reset my phone without backing up, hoping it would go back to the old update. Which it did at first and anything I needed that I lost because I didn’t backup I just got from iCloud website. It did the new update on its own unfortunately but just make sure you toggle off live voicemail and DO NOT set up voicemail password or anything. And it will be just like it was. I tried calling myself from my house phone and only if you decline a call do they have the option to leave a voicemail BUT if you don’t set up a voicemail password or anything whether they leave one or not you won’t see it or the red dot 🔴 or anything. So maybe people can leave a voicemail but as long as I don’t know it or see anything I’m fine with it for now until Verizon gets an option to not allow it all together. At least that’s how it is for me right now

so basically just reset your phone making sure all voicemails are clear beforehand and then toggle off live voicemails or any voicemail options you have and Don’t go into it or set up a password or anything
