My phone got stolen, and I was able to put it into Lost mode through my Mac. If I erase my phone, will it also delete my passcode thus giving the thieves access to it? I know they plan on re-selling it, and I do not want to give them that opportunity. If I erase the phone, what stops the thieves from turning off Find My and disappearing completely with it?
As long as you don't remove your iPhone from the list of your registered devices, it can't be used due to the Activation Lock. In addition to that, you can erase it remotely.
