How to clear my Apple Podcast history on the Podcast app

Uninstall / Reinstall seemed to work for me.

…. actually no, sorry, recently played started to repopulate few minutes later

1. Go into the history list.
2. Click the ellipse (three dots) for the relevant episode.

3a (this may be necessary first) click “Mark as unplayed”

3b click “Mark as played”

The offending episode should disappear.

4. Rest easy 🙂

Didn’t work for me. I want to clear my recent history because I wasn’t very interested in the show I listened to last week and now all my recommendations are based on it. I know the algorithm is supposed to make suggestions off our listening history, but in this case it’s going to keep being wrong. I just want my algorithm back the way it was before

You have to go into settings, scroll down to Podcasts, tap on that and scroll down to the bottom and look for reset device ID. This will treat your device as new to Apple Podcasts and it'll be as though you've never listened to any episodes, but it doesn't delete any of your episodes.
