To setup your iPhone 15 Pro from a backup of a previous iPhone, you can do so from the Quick Start screen. If you have already setup your iPhone 15 Pro, you'll need to erase it. You'll lose any data that you're created since you setup the iPhone 15 Pro. Here's how to erase the device:

  1. Ensure your iPhone 15 Pro is using the latest software: Update iOS on iPhone - Apple Support
  2. Once your iPhone 15 Pro is up-to-date, Go to Settings  > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone.
  3. Tap Erase all of your data from iPhone: Tap Erase All Content and Settings. If prompted, choose not to erase your eSIM.

When the iPhone 15 Pro is finished erasing and turns back on, follow these instructions to set it up from a backup:

  1. Make sure that your old device is connected to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth is on. Turn on your iPhone 15 Pro and place it near your current device. Follow the onscreen instructions to get started. If the prompt to set up your iPhone 15 Pro disappears from your old device, restart both devices.
  2. Connect your iPhone 15 Pro to Wi-Fi or your cellular network.
  3. You might be asked to activate your cellular service.
  4. Set up Face ID or Touch ID.
  5. Choose how you want to transfer your data.
    • If you download from iCloud, your apps and data download in the background so that you can start using your new device right away.
    • If you transfer directly from your previous device, you'll need to wait for the transfer to complete on both devices before you can use them.

Keep your devices near each other and plugged in to power until the data migration process is complete. Transfer times can vary based on factors such as network conditions and the amount of data being transferred.
