So this has happened three times now, I’ve declined a work meeting invite from my iPhone calendar inbox but instead of just declining the meeting, it creates a brand new meeting with the same name but with me as the host, and starting at the next half hour/on the hour. It’s highly embarrassing as it sends an invite as reply all so invites everyone in the organisation. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We have reached out to Microsoft but they are stumped. This seems solidly like an Apple issue.
Same issue has been happening to me with both 17.0.1 and 17.0.3 using Outlook base. 17.0.3 definitely did not fix the issue. Even tried uninstalling the e-mail account and reinstalling it but the meeting notices popped back up again awaiting response. When I accepted or declined every one of the created a new event for today and sent that invitation from me to all the original invitees. Very frustrating and somewhat embarrassing since some of the original invites were outside of our organization.
I had this happen just a few days ago. iPhone is running 17.1.1 and used the iPhone calendar app to accept an external meeting invite. It created a meeting instead and invited all the external contacts to the meeting.
Inspecting the meeting on the computer nothing seems amiss and when I accept it on the computer it works fine (Windows/Outlook)
Unfortunately, just updated to 17.0.3 and issue remains with respect to sending out the invite from my account when I accept another person's invite.
It’s not fixed in 17.0.3. 😬
So far i tested on 17.1 no issue anymore

Apparently this should be fixed in 17.0.3. Let’s see what happens.

In that case i’d call apple support and refer to this thread. They have (at least probably more) my call to swedish support this morning that you can refer aswell.
I have been having this happen to me. Not fixed with 17.0.3.
Is anyone else still seeing this issue with the release of 17.1?
It was definitely not fixed in 17.0.3.
