individual heart rate alerts any second
3 days ago I bought the apple watch for one reason and for one reason only: to get individual, timely and accurate heart rate alerts!!!
- best: background readings every second
- at least: background readings every 30 seconds
- select maximum heart rate by user
- alerts no matter whether I’m moving (more honest would be crawling:), standing, sitting or lying
I desperately need this to cope better with post covid (aka long covid), because exceeding my heart rate maximum leads to worsening of symptoms and crashes (and a crash equals not being able to move for 1,5 hours as well as 1-4 days barely being able to shower myself…).
To my utter disbelief and immense shock I found out that Apple is not supporting this by default.
Despite probably being naive and assuming that every fitness or smart watch would have a functionality like this I even checked the apple documentation beforehand - a cynical view would be that it's my fault to not read the message on the watch face precisely...
This is a functionality hundreds of millions of people would benefit greatly from.
- every post covid (aka long covid) patient (according to WHO 10-20% infected with covid-19 have post covid - just do the math yourself)
- every ME/CFS patient (according to studies 17-24 millions worldwide although some studies report a prevalence of 0.2 - 3.6% - just take 1% and do the math with 8.1 billion population worldwide)
- everyone with anger issues
- everyone with serious heart disease
Hopefully enough money in it for Apple or anyone else to care!
Do I need to throw away my Apple watch and buy the Google Pixle Watch which does readings every second or is there any chance to get this functionality either from Apple or an app?
