My daughter has been in my family sharing for years since I set up a child iCloud account.
does this account migrate to an independent adult account? And at what age?
I have taken her off of family sharing but it will
not let me set up a credit card on her iCloud payment settings (this is NOT about Apple Pay, this is the card for purchases thru iCloud if)
any hep would be appreciated,thx

A lot depends on her age when this occurred. In the U.S., if she were 13 or older, she could be treated as an adult. Otherwise, not.

If she’s older than the minimum age required above, I would think she, not you, would have the required access to her personal account to set up a credit card.
On her access to her account the option to add new payment details is greyed out. It keeps presenting with an error code on each attempt.
I guess I had always understood that when you set a icloudid up for a child as they turn adult the account matures with them to a full adult account.
adults accounts can of course be linked on family sharing but we are choosing to separate them .
as it doesn’t appear to want to treat it as an adult account is that because:
a) still 17 and not full adult until 18 - iwe are in europe
b) the accounts never graduate to adult ones and we just have to Delete account and create a completely new one, which has implications for losing previous data.
