Notes on iPad Pencil drawings get jumpy, writing auto-shifts/jumps down. Have hacky solution.

iPadOS 17.0.2

Sometime around the latest update, I found that when I was taking handwritten notes in Notes on iPadOS on existing notes, the insertion point for my handwritten notes would automatically jump down with each stroke by a fixed amount. After searching this and other fora, I found that a possible solution might be to stop iPad from syncing Notes with my iCloud account, and then turning on syncing again. I found that this was a solution, but only a temporary one.

More recently I have seen that if I switch the Pencil writing tool from pen to monoline then the issue does not persist; I can then safely switch back to pen and the issue does not resume (so far). So, this is the hacky solution that I come up with so far. (Also I don't see the same issue when creating a new note either locally in Notes > On My iPad or in Notes > iCloud folders.) It would be great if there were a more permanent solution, that would prevent this jumpiness from happening when taking handwriting notes in iPadOS on the Notes app.
