Alarm is not sounding with IOS 17 Update (Glitch with Standby Mode and Alarm Function)

I have noticed that my apple alarm (set via sleep schedule) does not go off consistently with IOS 17 (currently running IOS 17.0.2 on an Iphone 13 Pro). It appears to be most problematic when my iphone is not lying flat on its face. For instance, I usually leave my iphone plugged in and tucked between my mattress and the side of my nightstand, thereby resting on its side. I haven’t had any problems for years until know. However, I wonder if this position is somehow surfacing a glitch in the interaction between the alarm function and apple’s new “Standy Mode”.

I have tried resetting my phone
Installing the most recent updates
Deleting and re adding the alarms

All to no avail…..

Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.
