Green tint / garbled screen Apple Watch problem still exists after WatchOS 10

Hi,

Green tint / garbled screen Apple Watch 6 problem still exists after WatchOS 10. I got the problem somewhere around 9.6.x, but others have it since 9.5 (I didn’t do the 9.5 update).

I spoke with Apple support and they were not aware of the problem, which is quite surprising since there is a lot of discussion about this around the 9.5 update in May/June.

Has anyone else discussed this with Apple and got any answers?

Thanks,

Santtu

Hi,

If this is a hardware problem, how is it possible that it happened to so many people after the watchOS 9.5 update (there was a lot of discussion about this May/June)?

Thanks again,

Santtu

We can't see the subject devices, so it is pointless to speculate.

However, if the watch is still basically usable there might be a very simple test to show whether the problem is in the display and its connection to the logic board. Make a screen shot on the watch (enable it in the Watch app on your iPhone, then simply short press the Digital Crown and the side button at the same time). The screen shot will be stored to your iPhone's photos, where you can view it.

If the screen shot shows the same corrupted display and color issue, the fault is probably on the Watch's logic board or in software. If the screen shot shows a non-corrupted normal display the fault is in the display panel and the connection which links it to the logic board.
