Usually arrives with some charge?

Apple Watch series 8 dead out of the box I just had my first ever Apple Watch series 8 cellular watch delivered to me today. After taking it out the box the battery was completely dead. Is this normal? As usually with apple products there is some battery for the set up? It’s been on charge for over an hour and the green lighting bolt is on however the battery is not increasing. I am worried I have received a bad Apple Watch. Has anyone else had this issue? Can anyone please advise? Thanks

Contact Verizon if it will not charge and work. They will replace the watch.

Did you ever get a response? I just perchased mine from Verizon and it’s been on the charger for over an hour but it is still dead.
