AirPods Pro Gen 2 not answering calls properly

I have the AirPods Pro 2 and an iPhone X. I have a pair of AirPods Pro Gen 1's that still work flawlessly except the annoying 'shaking sound' which has not been able to be stopped. I bought the new Gen 2's in hopes of enjoying AirPods again.


When I answer the phone while wearing my Gen 2 pods, the phone is answered BUT I connot hear the caller and the caller cannot hear me. When I swipe on the phone the current call does display, and in the audio area of the display it DOES show my AiPods as the active device for sound but nothing happens. People hang up before I can switch to speaker or the iphone ear speaker. If I successfully get on the speakerphone speaker before they hang up, eventually my Airpods connect to the call.


I already visited an Apple Store and they replaced the original AirPod Gen 2's with new ones but hte problem persists. Before going to the store I made sure all my firmware was updated. I've reset the AirPods countless times. It's very frustrating. Again today I tried my AirPods Gen 1's and they again worked, just with the annoying buzz/shaking sound.


Any help would be greatly appreciated!

When I make outgoing calls they work perfectly. It's only answering the call. I've tried answering using the Airpods, Siri, and the phone (but with the AirPods in) and it's all the same. Call connects but no sound either way.
