Messages not syncing from iCloud to iPhone 15 Pro

What happens when you turn on iCloud Messages on all your devices?

When you use iCloud messages, messages aren't in the backup, they're synced with iCloud only. Does your iPhone 12 Pro still have iCloud Messages enabled?

Make sure it's set up accordingly:

Set up iCloud for Messages on all your devices

Hey all - I have been struggling with this issue for over a month and I FINALLY figured it out!! To recap I had an iPhone 12 updated to 15 ... iPhone wouldn't download all my text messages to my phone was missing pics and vids from all the messages. Here is step by step what I did and it fixed immediately!! YAY RELIEF!

1 - Synced and backed up messages in iCloud on both iPhone and Mac

2 - Logged out of Apple ID on both iPhone and Mac

3 - Removed wi-fi network from both iPhone and Mac

4 - Unplugged wi-fi, turned OFF mac and iPhone, left all off for 30 minutes

5 - Plugged wi-fi back in

6 - Powered on and added wi-fi network back to iPhone and Mac

7 - Signed back into Apple ID on both iPhone and Mac

8 - Plugged iPhone in and sat back and watched the music - ALL messages came right back to phone!!

So you plugged your new phone into the computer directly? Where does the iphone 12 come into this? I can see all my recents texts on my iphone 12 and macbook Pro but my new phone 15 only has synced really old text messages.

Hey - I did an upgrade from iPhone 12 and no didn't plug into computer. Sadly, what I thought was the solution only lasted temporarily, and when I turned my phone back on it was like it never happened. I've been talking directly with an Apple engineer and he said this was a deep coding issue, and they know about it and are working on it. It won't fix until there is an update. To this day my iPhone is a hot mess and won't back up. Crazy we are now at iPhone 15 and they can't fix a syncing issue. We pay too much for these things. Sorry - I remain frustrated with you! I’m having these same issues too. And I’ve tried everything Apple support said to do and nothing is fixing it.
