Issues with MacBook Air M2 charging
I've been encountering this issue with charging recently, and it's a bit annoying. So basically, whenever I plug in my mag safe charging cable into my macbook air m2, the little light on the charging cable, more often than not, doesn't light up (orange/green). Only after I unplug and plug the cable, does it light up and starts charging. This happens regardless of the outlet, as I've had this happen in 3 different locations.
Also, on a slighly related topic, whenever the cable does end up connecting to the laptop properly, it doesn't start actually charging. I see the little electrical plug icon (see picture attached) and it doesn't go away, so I have to unplug and plug the cable once again for the battery to actually start charging.
It's annoying because I purchased the macbook only about 3 months ago, and it's already acting up like this :(
Misc info:
- I run the latest MacOS as of 27sept 2023
- Macbook Air with M2 chip, 8gb.
- I'm using the original charging cable and the power brick
- The laptop is sibject to regular use. Only rarely do I need to use things like after effects and other power hungry apps
- I restart my macbook regularly, and all of the above mentioned issues persist
