imessage text sms search indexing issues

iPhone 14 Pro Max iOS17.0.2

imessage search with any words shows only most recent imessages/sms threads with that word. I know there are several more in the past wherein the word I am searching with has been used. I myself have. Have done the Siri & Search message app switching on and off, airplane mode on and off, restart, region change, time zone change, iCloud sign out and sign back in, messages back up on icloud toggle off and on etc

None of these steps have helped and only the recent very few message threads show up on search. Please suggest what else I can do to resolve this? Thanks in advance.
