open safari tabs lost after ios17 update

Overnight, after having updated my iphone to ios17, all the tabs i had open in safari disappeared. Going into "recently closed" only lists the tabs that I actually closed on purpose, not the ones i kept open. History is the same- just tabs i had visited within the last 30 days, and no further back than that.

Safari tabs and history gone I suddenly opened my safari and all my tabs were gone. I didn’t close them at all. This also never happened before, all my tabs were always there whenever i’d open Safari. Both public and private tabs are gone. And all the history on Safari as well (when I searched for a tab in recently closed, nothing showed. It was blank). I don’t know how that happened. How can I get my tabs back?? Thank you. All Safari tabs have disappeared - twice in 2 days! I am running iPadOS 16.6, on a pretty new iPad 10th generation, and all my Safari tabs have disappeared, TWICE in 2 days. I have never had this problem before on my iPad Air 2. What is causing this, and how do I prevent it? (I have “Close Tabs” set to Manual in Settings.) I manually restored all the tabs I wanted yesterday, only to find they are no longer there today! I have just manually restored the tabs again, but have totally lost confidence that they’ll continue to be there tomorrow. Any help will be much appreciated.

Safari search bar missing after updating to iOS 17.4 on iPhone Hello, After I updated my phone to iOS 17.4 today the search bar went missing🙀 I can’t use Safari anymore, although I’ve been using it forever, and I’m so used it, and I even have like 60 tabs opened there, but can’t open a new one, or go to a new one in any of them, because the search bar went just missing after the new software update!!🙀🤯 And not just for me, my friend is facing the same issue after the update🙀🙀 [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Hey witteg,

When looking for the missing tabs, did you check to see if you created a Tab Group? Here's more information, just in case: Organize your tabs with Tab Groups in Safari on iPhone - Apple Support

If that's not the case, were you possibly using private browsing? If so, it wouldn't keep a history of your browsing history as shown here: Turn Private Browsing on or off on your iPhone - Apple Support
