iOS16.7 on Phone - error message says iPhone needs updating? Bluetooth is on WiFi is on and connected to the internet. Restarted both watch and phone - no change will not pair. Watch is recognised in the Bluetooth app but won't complete pairing after the 6 digit number is entered.
You need to first update your iPhone to iOS 17.0.1 . In the iPhone settings go to General - Software Updates. Then try pairing after you’ve updated your iPhone

Pity the instructions make no mention of this requirement. I updated my phone as instructed but was only offered 16.7 initially and had to dig around to find 17.0.
