Contact Apple Support, Asking to Change the Order:

Give Apple Support a call, and provide them with your order number (found on an invoice, or in an eMail you would have received). Request that they make this change so that an inshore trade in can take place.

• Proceed from there as Necessary
• Why the Wait: Phone calls are taking a bit to go through at the moment, due do lots of calls. With the Coronavirus Pandemic, many are at home at the moment, with much time on their hands to contact Apple. So, just stay on the line, and you will get through :)

As a friendly note, I've always performed my trade-ins through Mail, and never had I had an issue with doing so.
