Right airpod issues since iOS17.

Since the upgrade to iOS 17, my right air pod has a rumbling sound. Music or other sound is very distorted. When I disable noise cancellation the rumbling stops but I get no sound. A chat and a phone call with Apple were of no help. Shocking.

For the record these are air pod pro model A2084. Version 6A300. They worked flawlessly until iOS 17. They do perform the same in my wife’s identical phone and hers is iOS 17 also. I think it bit the dust as I have tried everything I have been able to find including many, many hard resets including the 5 cycle reset.

I've had a similar issue! Got brand new airpod pros with the c-connector for charging and the audio distorts heavily and becomes even worse once I turn off noise cancellation or transparency mode. I'm guessing it is some sort of audio bug, but it is insanely annoying and practically renders the airpods unusable with the audio quality... very disappointing

I was able to solve my issue. I decided to look at the air pods closely and noticed the mesh at the top of the air pod was dirty. I took a cotton swab and a little alcohol and cleaned it up and now it works fine!! No thanks to two contacts at Apple. Very disappointing customer service. I am kinda stuck with Apple for a while but have a long memory.

I’m having trouble with my spatial audio not working at all I have AirPods Pro 2 the audio on the right headphone was not working so I ended up cleaning them per your instructions that helped I think but the spatial audio does nothing

If you haven’t tried the hard reboot someone mentioned it might help? The hard reboot mentioned said to hold the button on the back of the case through 5 cycles of the flashing amber. It means holding it down for about a full minute.
