iPhone photos not synching with my MacBook Pro

Since upgrading my iPhone to iOS 17, my photos will not synch with the Photos app on my MacBook Pro. I am using a lightning cable to connect. This is with a iPhone 15 Pro Max. Previously, with iPhone 14 Pro Max after upgrading to iOS17 it stopped working. I am on iOS 17.02 and MacOS Ventura 13.6.

Photos app on Mac not syncing all photos from iPhone I have been manually downloading photos from my iPhone 12 pro to my iMac using a cable. Generally this process works smoothly. However, today after connecting the iPhone to the mac, the Photos app on the Mac is not showing me all the photos available to be downloaded. It's stopping at a certain point, beyond which it just shows me blank squares instead of the new pics for downloading. I have tried restarting the phone and the computer but the problem is still there. It just loads up the photos from the phone upto a certain point and then stops. This problem was not there earlier. iPhone Photos has stopped syncing to iPad Photos iOS 18.1.1 on iPhone 16 Pro and iPad OS 18.1.1 on iPad Pro 5th Gen (M1) are not in sync. In previous iOS there was a button to force sync, not in this new version or hidden away somewhere. Restarted iPad but still not syncing. Searching iPhone User Guide pages under Support was not helpful.

Photos not syncing to iPad after iOS 17.1 update Since I updated my iPad Pro 10.5 inch to iOS 17.1, photos taken on my iPhone 15 Pro Max (also updated to iOS 17.1) do not sync to my iPad. Yes, they are both signed into the same Apple ID. Yes, I have iCloud sync turned on for both and both are connected to the same WiFi network. When I sign into iCloud on my MBP, all the photos are there. They are also in my Photos app on my computer. I have rebooted all devices and tried to sync while both the phone and iPad are plugged into power and fully charged. I have read on other forums that I am not the only one having syncing problems with the Photos app since the update. Has anyone found a solution yet or do I just have to wait until Apple sees that there is a problem and fixes it?

I had to upgrade to Sonoma for it to start working again.
