My Apple Ultra is no longer able to swipe L/R after the iOS 10 update. My phone has been updated to iOS 17. The swipe up has also changed. How can I get back to the pre-iOS10 swiping operation; without reverting to an older version of iOS?

You can’t revert back. Unpairing the watch isn’t going to do this either. It will remain on the same OS. I have the series 7 and the swiping has changed as well. I don’t mind it because I kept accidentally swiping to other faces or swiping up on Control centre and putting my watch on silent. The Ultra has some additional settings that have changed.

Ya, I figured out the long press on the watch face too (by accident :) ). I was just wondering if I could get back to the pre-iOS10 operation. I also saw where others unpaired the watch/phone and then re-paired the two. I'm a little hesitant to try that. My daughter has an 8 and the update did not cause any issues. I have the Ultra.
If you are looking to change the watch face - on the watch long press on the watch face, the face will change and you can swipe from there.
I'm on the AWU too. Understand the hesitancy to unpair/pair. Maybe wait until 10.0.1 or iOS 17.1 and see what's in there, if it's not too much of a pain point.
