always on feature not working

I followed all the steps but it still randomly goes back to blank screen. My wife’s watch doesn’t and we bought them the same time. Series 8 what am I doing wrong or is the watch faulty

Using the Watch app on your iPhone, go to:

My Watch > Display & Brightness and check the setting of “Always On”.
